Jeff Bridges is Associate Director of Bands at The Colony High School in The Colony, TX. He is responsible for conducting the Symphonic & Concert Bands, assisting with the marching band and other ensembles at TCHS.  Prior to his years at The Colony High School, he taught at J.J. Pearce High School and Parkhill Junior High School in the Richardson ISD, and Spring Branch Junior High School in the Spring Branch ISD of Houston.  During his years in Richardson, his students performed at the Texas Music Educators Association convention on two occasions, as members of TMEA Honor Bands, in both the B and AAAA classifications.  Mr. Bridges has also had the pleasure of serving on the brass staff of the Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps of Rosemont, IL and assisting with an international conference on wind instrument educational techniques in Paris, France.  He also had a blast spinning flag and rifle with Nostalgia Senior Winterguard!  One of his favorite activities is creating custom arrangements of music for his students to perform that include symphonic treatments of music by Led Zeppelin, Chicago, Heart, Queen, the Electric Light Orchestra and Supertramp, as well as other solo artists, such as Barbara Streisand, Edith Piaf, Elton John & Peter Gabriel.  


Mr. Bridges graduated from the University of Houston with a B.M. in Music Education and studied French Horn under Nancy Goodearl.  He was a member of the prestigious Wind Ensemble under the direction of Eddie Green as well as the Spirit of Houston Marching Band and Cougar Brass pep band under the direction of Bill Moffit and Gregory Talford.  

Mr. Bridges’ additional interests include European history, French, Italian & Japanese language study, world travel, serious cooking, and playing the guitar.  He resides in Dallas, Texas with his husband Woody and their two cats, Yuki and Shoyu.
