Volunteer Needs
Week of 9-23-2018
This week is another HOME Game, this one against Centennial HS. It is also
Middle School Night, where we host band members from Griffin and Lakeview
Middle Schools and give them a taste of being a marching band member in high
school. As always, we need parent volunteers to ensure a successful
evening.
Our volunteer needs for this week:
Marching Rehearsal Field Support- Attend practice with cart loaded with
medical bag, water container, ice chests w/Gatorade for student medical and
hydration needs. All items can be found in the Band Parent Room. Ice and water
in Trainer Room. Requires lifting, pulling cart w coolers and being outside.
Water Crew- Will be stocking ice chests/water containers for game night pre-
game meal/back up water for stands and competitions. Please see comments
section for details on how many containers to fill.
Chuck Wagon- Feed students pregame, set up, clean up. Must arrive by 4pm.
Chaperones- your job for the night will be given to you when you arrive on game
night/competition day. Jobs are field support, stands monitor (water, seat
covers) and attending any needs students have (escort to bathroom or any other
need). Chaperones will ride the bus with the students on away
games/competitions.
Field Support/Pit Volunteers- Assist with moving instruments, equipment,
props and other items before game and during Half-Time. Help students where
needed during halftime/competition show.
Concession - Working Band concession stands during home games and other
events.
Props - Move props on and off the field (this will take place post-game this
week)/
As a reminder, game night volunteers must sign up and indicate in the
comments if you will be eating with the band pre-game. If you do not, food
will not be available, as we order enough chuckwagon for students and
those volunteers who have requested a meal. We appreciate it!
This week we have our first Marching Competition at Penington Field in Bedford.
Volunteer assistance is requested in the areas of water crew, chuck wagon,
chaperones, and pit crew.
