Brian Teed serves as the Director of Percussion for The Colony High School Cluster and all associated middle schools.  His duties include instructing the TCHS Drumline and percussion ensembles, teaching beginning percussionists, and assisting with all wind band percussive needs.

 

Mr. Teed is a native of The Woodlands, Texas, and holds a Master of Music Performance and a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Oklahoma.  

 

His principal teachers include Dr. Lance Drege, Dr. Michael Raiber, Dr. Nathan Daughtrey, and Mr. Glen Buecker. Prior to joining the staff at The Colony High School, Mr. Teed served as the Director of Percussion for the Rockwall-Heath High School Cluster.  While attaining 

his Graduate Degree he was the Percussion Graduate Assistant to the “University Bands” at the University of Oklahoma where he arranged for and directed the Pride of Oklahoma Drumline, directed the “Sooner Showmen” Women’s Basketball Band, and acted as assistant director with the OU Steel Drum Band. 

 

Mr. Teed has performed across the United States and Europe including performances with the OU Wind Symphony, the OU Percussion Orchestra, the Norman Philharmonic, and the Classical Music Festival Orchestra.  He has also performed at PASIC as a member of the 50th Anniversary Marimba Orchestra. 

Mr. Teed is an artist/endorser for Vic Firth sticks and mallets and currently resides in McKinney with his wife Jennifer, who is the Assistant Band Director at McKinney Boyd High School, their dog Tosca, and their two cats, Remo and Newton.
